IT HAS been centuries since Hadrian came to the North and built his famous wall, but this weekend saw a new Roman invasion as cyclists rode to the aid of a post office marked for closure.

The coast-to-coast bike ride was also held to raise money and awareness for the teenage victims of cancer, and the sight of cyclists dressed as ancient Romans certainly raised eyebrows across the region.
