FORD'S first offering in the 4x4 world for many years - apart from the poor-selling and thirsty US-built Explorer - is the Kuga, and it's a great performer in every way.
It uses the top-class Focus chassis, which is lengthened and widened, plus the tried-and-tested two-litre diesel engine also used across the range, which gives good performance with excellent economy. The intelligent four-wheel drive system in most models drives the front wheels most of the time, adding the rears when conditions get slippery.
