A POPULAR North watering hole became a football fan's dream when legends of the beautiful game pitched in for its grand reopening.

Bourgognes in Swalwell, Gateshead, opened its door once more, under the watchful gaze of Newcastle and England legend Malcolm Macdonald, former Newcastle, Chelsea and Hartlepool favourite Joe Allon, Micky Horswill - part of Sunderland's 1973 FA Cup winning team - plus Celtic and Scotland great Frank McAvennie.
