GIG: HARD FI are playing Northumbria University on Thursday, September 29. Back with their third album Killer Sounds, the lads from Staines are touring their own brand of dark indie rock. Hard- Fi"s musical style is a mix of post-punk, indie and a Clash style of punk rock and say they are also influenced by dance and soul music.

This year's offering, Fur Coats and French Knickers, is an all-new production boasting that essential ingredient which makes this such a success each year - fun. ALBUM: Bombay Bicycle Club, A Different Kind of Fix: Prolific indie poppers Bombay Bicycle Club return to electric guitars for their latest album - their third in three years. And A Different Kind of Fix pretty much does what it says on the tin, showing off a totally new slice of playful pop that couldn't be more different from their latest release, the stripped back, acoustic sounds of Flaws. The whole album washes over in a pleasant, entrancing haze, with complex rhythms and melodies slowly building from the first track 'How Can You Swallow So Much Sleep' to the hypnotic, crowd- pleasing Shuffle. A standout track is Your Eyes. The sound they've created very much harks back to the early days of indie disco, bouncing around happily to The Cure and later Belle and Sebastian. Also catch them at Newcastle Academy on October 1. GAME: FIFA Soccer 12 is set to be EA Sports' 2011 iteration of the franchise, covering the 2011-2012 season and will introduce tactical defending, precise dribbling and enhanced 'more human' AI. It will also have a brand new, supposedly ergonomic menu system and EA Sports Football Club. It is the new online in-game service for the FIFA series and will be included in every FIFA from 12 onwards. The idea of Football Club is to add more depth to online play and make everyone more connected to their favourite club. The game will be released on September 27 for a PC. FILM: A New York publishing executive relocates his family to a small New England town, only to learn that their new home was the scene of a vicious murder.
