HIDE the rum! Synonymous with sailors, pirates and the Caribbean, as well as booze-hounds on the trail for a mojito, rum's good fortune stems from sugarcane juice and molasses which is distilled into a range of varieties.

This popular spirit can be crystal clear. White rum is for mixing and can be aged up to three years, and the golden ones are for sipping and savouring. Dark rum can be aged anywhere from three years to 21 (and more) and the heavy consistency likens it almost to a brandy.
